Wisconsin Solidarity Weekend
Friday, February 25, 2011(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
With the Wisconsin-inspired battle for worker rights spreading
like wildfire across the country, there are three local events in the metro
Washington area this weekend, including one on Sunday targeting Wisconsin
Governor Scott Walker, who will be in DC at the annual National Governor’s
Association meeting. “Please join us as we tell Walker to go back to Wisconsin
and kill the bill that would strip the state’s workers of their collective
bargaining rights,” says Metro Council President Jos Williams. “Tunisia,
Egypt and Indiana prove that mobilizing in the streets works: see you on the
line!” Plus: watch for full coverage over the weekend on our
website!
