(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

With the DC City Council set to decide how to close the city’s $188 million budget gap today, community activists – led by DC Jobs with Justice, Empower DC and Save Our Safety Net – will rally on the steps of the Wilson Building at 9A to “demand that the City Council make the better choice: invest in priorities that put DC to work!” reports DC JwJ’s Ruth Castel-Branco. “With the mayor-elect's leadership, the City Council can make better choices and pass a budget that raises progressive revenue to ensure the economic security of all DC residents.” Click here to email Chairman Gray and the At-Large Council members. - photo courtesy Save Our Safety Net
