(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

The Metro Washington Council voted last night to take “no position” in the Prince George’s County Executive Race after neither leading candidate – Rushern Baker and Michael Jackson --garnered the two-thirds majority necessary to win endorsement. “This vote leaves our affiliates free to endorse and support the candidate of their choice in this race,” said Metro Council President Jos Williams. A packed house and agenda generated many reports on local labor activity and news: watch for a full report in tomorrow’s special Affiliate Update and in Wednesday’s Union City. - photo: new delegates Janel Quarless (r) of AFGE 2978 and Adebayo Arowolaju of DCNA are sworn in by Jos Williams at last night’s Council meeting; photo by Adam Wright
