Rain, shine “or even September sleet,” tonight’s Employee Free Choice Act fundraiser is on! ”We waited eight long years to see a friend across Lafayette Park, and to celebrate we’re opening our 8th-floor balcony for the first time in years,” says AFL-CIO Online Mobilization Coordinator Marc Laitin. AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker, Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka and activists for workers' rights will gather tonight to “enjoy the best view in D.C., share food and refreshments on the AFL-CIO balcony, hear some great music and discuss what we have accomplished this year toward winning the Employee Free Choice Act and health care reform,” promises Laitin.
