(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

The late Senator Edward Kennedy “wasn’t just a co-sponsor of the Employee Free Choice Act,” says the AFL-CIO. “He helped create it, and he was the first to introduce it in the Senate.” The battle to win a voice on the job for American workers continues with a major fundraiser this Wednesday for the Turn Around America Media Fund. “Congress may be in recess, but the corporate bosses aren't, and neither are we!” says Fred Azcarate, Director of the Voice@Work Campaign. “Our fight to counter the bosses' lies about the Employee Free Choice Act continues as we get closer to a vote in Congress.” Tickets are still available: click here to reserve yours. – photo by Bill Burke/Page One
