Creativity Hits The Streets
Tuesday, June 23, 2009(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
The annual Conference on Creative Organizing and the Great Labor
Arts Exchange wrap up today with two great events. At noon, they’ll bring
puppets, street theatre and more creative organizing to downtown DC’s Lafayette
Park in an action to “bring attention and energy to issues currently
facing working people, America and its leaders,” including the Employee Free
Choice Act, comprehensive immigration reform, poverty, health and education
reform. Then at 7:30P it’s "Raise
Your Voice and Be Heard," the conference’s annual free concert out at the
National Labor College, featuring the Joe Hill Award and the DC Labor Chorus.
Both events are sponsored by the Labor
Heritage Foundation.
