Workers, Religious Leaders Make Last Push for Employee Free Choice Act

Monday, June 18, 2007

With a Senate vote expected this week on the Employee Free Choice Act – legislation that would help restore workers' freedom to form unions and bargain for better lives – over 100 “religious leaders across the country have signed a letter urging the US Senate to pass” the act, reports James Parks of the AFL-CIO Now Blog. “The letter points out that nearly all faiths support the value of work and fair treatment of workers,” Parks reports. Ten of thousands of workers and labor activists will also rally TOMORROW on Capitol Hill at 2P and in 60 cities across the country in support of the legislation. Click here to read the full story.
