DC Students Demand Sweat-Free Apparel

Wednesday, April 4, 2007

Students across the District are participating in Sweat-free Days of Action as part of the Student-Labor Week of Action to draw attention to the working conditions for those who manufacture university apparel. George Washington University held their event yesterday while George Mason University and the University of Maryland College Park hold their event today. Students from all three campuses are calling on their administrators to take action to ensure that factories where university apparel is made respect codes of conduct that protect basic workers’ rights. Several other DC campuses are also in the process of working with administrators to win justice for workers around the world.
