(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Sneiderman Moves to
Rutgers: After Marilyn Sneiderman’s most recent stint as
Executive Director at AVODAH, the former director of the AFL-CIO’s Department
of Field Mobilization has joined the faculty of the Rutgers School of
Management and Labor Relations. “I have an opportunity to build and direct a
new center to support innovative work in the labor and community organizing
movements,” Sneiderman, who will be based in DC, tells Union City. “All
very
exciting!”
Bobo to
Transition
Out at Interfaith Worker Justice: After 18 years as the
founder and executive director of Interfaith Worker Justice, Kim Bobo has
decided to transition out of leadership in the next six to eight months. “As
a
parent, which founders feel like, you know how important it is to allow your
kids to grow and flourish without you,” says Bobo. The organization is
seeking a
new Executive Director, based in either Chicago or D.C.
“This is the greatest job in the world, because Interfaith Worker Justice is
working on the most important issues facing the nation,” says Bobo. “We
focus
on real campaigns and issues that generate concrete improvements in people's
lives.”
