Services for ATU 689's James Allen Set for Thursday

former ATU 689 President James W. Allen will be
held this Thursday, June 26. Allen, who passed
away June 14 (In
Memoriam: Jimmy Allen 6/16 UC), was
president of Local 689 from 1998-2001, after
serving as 1st Vice President from 1983-1998.
After leaving office he served on Board of the
MD State & DC AFL-CIO and on the Maryland
Seniors Alliance. The service, at the First
Baptist Church of Glenarden (3600 Brightseat
Road Landover, MD) is at 11a on Thursday;
viewing will be from 9:30-11a. Expressions of
sympathy may be sent to Allen’s wife, Sharon
