Dozens of union volunteers conducted Labor-to-Labor walks out of four locations. Volunteers in Tri-County met at 7:30 AM and walked from Waldorf. Volunteers also walked from UFCW MCGEO in Gaithersburg, IBEW Local 26 in Prince George's and OPEIU Local 2 in Silver Spring. "We will continue be using these four sites every Saturday until the election on June 24th to get our members involved,” said Jos Williams, President of the Metro Council. “We’re asking unions and their members to give us just three hours for the next two Saturdays to help get the word out about candidates who will protect our jobs and benefits.” Added Williams, “The labor-endorsed candidates on the ‘Bread and Butter Ballot’ will fight for all working families in the state house and the county council." Early voting starts on June 12th and ends on June 19th.
