In Memoriam: Richard Evans Settle, AFGE 2798

Richard Evans Settle, formerly of AFGE Local 2798, passed
away on Monday, May
26, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. Local 2798
represents workers at the VA Medical Center, where Settle worked until his
retirement.
“He was not only a member but also served as the
Executive
Vice President of Local 2798 for over 12 years,” said Alma L. Lee, National VA
Council, President. “Richard’s continued
commitment to ensuring that every employee was treated fairly will never be
forgotten.”
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral
Home,
located at 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport, Maryland on Friday, May
30, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the
Osborne Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The family will
receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to
11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, Maryland.
A memorial service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Humane
Society of Washington County, located at 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown,
Maryland 21740.
