DC Labor FilmFest Raffling Off Pair of Free Tix to Sunday(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)"Cesar Chavez," a new major motion picture about legendary Farm Worker leader Cesar Chavez will debut March 28 in theaters nationwide, and the DC Labor FilmFest is raffling off two free tickets to this Sunday's special screening in DC. Click here to enter the drawing for the 5p screening March 30 at the Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14, which benefits the United Farm Workers. Deadline for entry is 5p on Thursday, March 27.

"Cesar Chavez, An American Hero," shows Chavez as leader of nonviolent protests, marches, strikes and unprecedented boycotts worldwide to gain union representation and better working conditions for farm workers. Director Diego Luna called the film “the first major motion picture about an icon for Latinos in the United States. Yet, by genuinely portraying Cesar Chavez as a hero for all Americans, it also tells a story every American should see.” The DC Labor FilmFest runs May-June this year, and is anchoring the new DC LaborFest, a monthlong celebration of labor art and culture in May.
