CLUW Conference Offers Scholarships to Young Women

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) will
bring 10 young women to their
3-day Women’s Leadership Skills Conference
this year on scholarship. The
scholarship has been awarded by the Berger
Marks Foundation, which supports
young women working in social justice. The
conference, taking place in Chicago,
IL from March 27-29, will include 4 tracks –
6 hours each offering an in depth
educational experience in the areas of public
speaking, political and
legislative action, community
engagement/partnerships and leadership. In
addition, 14 two-hour workshops will be offered
on a wide variety of subjects
including Learn to Negotiate Anything; Domestic
Violence; Getting Breast Cancer
Out of Work; Reproductive Justice; Voter
Suppression; Combating Racism,
Homophobia and Sexism; and Social Media.
Deadline for
online applications is February
24th.
