Tarlau Vows to Move Labor Movement Forward in Annapolis(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Dozens of labor leaders filled the room last Thursday for a  fundraising event for Jimmy Tarlau, the CWA District 2-13 Vice-President and Mount Rainier City Councilmember who's running for Maryland State Delegate in District 47A. Tarlau told the gathering that he's running "so that I can move labor's agenda forward in Annapolis." Said Metro Council president Jos Williams, "Jimmy will work diligently to ensure that corporations pay a living wage and provide paid sick days so workers can take better care of themselves. He'll make sure corporations pay their fair share."  Labor-to-labor operations are expected to kick-off for Tarlau on March 22; details will be announced soon. - report/photo by Alya Solomon
