Solidarity Center Report: Migrant Workers Exploited Across the Globe

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Last week, International Migrant Workers Day highlighted the plight of migrant workers. Half of migrant workers are women, and many toil in domestic work. Many others migrate to work in construction. As countries scramble to build infrastructure for major sporting events like the Olympics and World Cup, news of worker rights violations, including death and injury on the job, are making news. Indeed these high-profile competitions often are built on the backs of poor and vulnerable workers, particularly migrant workers. Read more at the Solidarity Center.
