"Light" Work for Iron Workers at DAR HQ

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Iron worker strength and skill were called on recently when the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) needed the “lay lights” in their DC headquarters removed and then reinstalled. Essentially massive interior windows, the lay lights in the ceiling and above two prominent staircases at the DAR library were long overdue for restoration and cleaning, and Iron Workers Local 5 signatory contractor Hutchinson/United Rigging was tapped to handle the delicate job of removing and then reinstalling the historic features. “Local 5 is proud of both our partnership and our track record with Hutchinson/United Rigging,” said Local 5 Business Agent Kendall Martin. Click here to see a video of the project.
