In Memoriam: Ernest B. "Ernie" Crofoot

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Ernest B. "Ernie" Crofoot (right) passed away on Friday, March 15 at the age of 88. He helped found AFSCME Council 67 and served as its Executive Director for 22 years before retiring in 1986. “Ernie was a great trade unionist who believed in serving workers and building solidarity among unions,” said Fred Mason, President of the Maryland State and District of Columbia AFL-CIO. “He lived the slogan ‘An injury to one is an injury to all.’”
