Elevator Constructors Celebrate 2012 Graduates

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Elevator Constructors Local 10 celebrated its 2012 class of 22 newly-minted
mechanics at a graduation dinner on February 9 at the local's union hall. "New
mechanics and their families had a very nice dinner and certificates and a few
little goodies, given to the mechanics by some of our signatory companies,"
reports Local 10. Graduates received a 9-piece set of US-made wrenches from
Local 10 and a door wedge tool from Otis Elevator.The certificates were
presented by National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) Area
Coordinator/Local 10 President Sonny Yeatman and Business Manager Jim Lowery who
congratulated the graduates for their "hard work and determination." Also on
hand were Maryland and District of Columbia AFL-CIO President Fred Mason, Metro
Council President Jos Williams and Community Services Director Kathleen
