DC Letter Carrier Delivers Help to Elderly Woman Attacked in NW
Wednesday, November 14, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Letter carrier Teddy Settles (right) became a neighborhood hero last week
when he tipped off police that an elderly woman on his route in Northwest DC had
been beaten and robbed. When Settles knocked on the 81-year-old woman’s door
to deliver her mail last Wednesday, “I noticed she was disturbed,” the NALC
Branch 142 member told
NBC News4’s Pat Collins, “and when I asked what had happened she said
she’d been attacked and robbed,” so Settles called the police, who soon
arrested an 18-year-old man. Click here for more inspiring stories
