CSA Maps Out Strategic Plans(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)A full-day retreat July 13 was the most recent step in the Community Services Agency’s (CSA) ongoing process to evaluate programs, board performance, funding diversity and planning for the future. “This has been a great process so far and will result in a stronger, more visible, sustainable CSA into the future,” said CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy.  “The Board has really committed itself to the process and to the success of CSA and that is fabulous.” The retreat was part of a year-long review and strategic plan development process funded by a Capacity-Building Strategic Planning Grant from the MARPAT Foundation “which will enhance CSA’s niche in the community, its ability to raise funds for programs which help working people, and its ability to respond to changes in the non-profit world in the future,” McKirchy added. The process has been overseen by a Steering Committee of Board members Ann Hoffman (NWU), Dan Duncan (NOVA Area Labor Federation) and Alex Thompson (A. Thompson Associates).  By the end of the year, detailed action items will be agreed on and a full implementation plan will be executed in 2013-16. - photo: strategic planning consultant Michela Perrone, MMP Associates, (standing) helps the CSA Board identify and prioritize strategic goals; photo by Kathleen McKirchy
