District Activists Dialed In to Wisconsin Recall Election
Monday, June 4, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Despite millions of dollars spent by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, the Koch
Brothers and other right-wing groups, another poll out last Friday showed a
“dead heat” as the race entered its final hours. District area activists
continue to dial at the AFL-CIO’s phone bank to make sure Wisconsinites know
about the stakes for the Badger State and the country in tomorrow’s election
to recall Gov. Scott Walker, who the AFL-CIO says “stole collective bargaining
rights from workers, made the largest cut to public education in Wisconsin
history and has the worst jobs record in the Midwest.” Talking Points
Memo said “this election will come down to turnout, so the ‘million dollar
question’ is who will turn out next Tuesday.” The phonebank is open today and tomorrow 10a-8p:
