IBEW 26 Steps Up Donations to Shoebox Project
Wednesday, May 16, 2012
(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The United Way Shoebox
Project – to distribute shoeboxes filled with toiletries or emergency
preparedness items to those most in need – is underway, and the Community
Services Agency (CSA) is receiving donations from individuals and locals across
the Metro area. IBEW Local 26’s Retirees Club donated half of their monthly
50-50 raffle last week, and all of their $10-award-winners chipped in their
prizes, bringing the total donation to $160 in addition to several bags and
boxes of donated items. CSA has also received Shoebox Project donations from
Mark Pattison (Newspaper Guild), Rosanna Farley (Utility Workers), and the
Cement Masons Local 891. Items and financial contributions can be made through
June 2 – including at Monday’s Metro
Council Delegate Meeting. Contact Kathleen McKirchy for more information at
202 974-8221 or kmckirchy@dclaborarchives.org.
